Citizens First

Citizens First was established in 2009 as a civic association to support the community of Berthoud, Colorado.

Citizens First hosts public information forums to educate our citizens on topics of interest in our town, particularly in regards to local government, elections and events. Funds raised to support Citizens First are used to pay for facilities and advertising for public forums and to support local charities that benefit the citizens of Berthoud.

CITIZENS FIRST Areas of interest

Clean Water – Clean, good tasting and affordable water.

Healthy Trees – We support protecting and nurturing our trees.

Utilities – We oppose the Xcel franchise fee and support alternative clean energy options.

Economic Development – We support a ROI- Return on Investment to the citizens for incentives given to builders, developers and economic consultants by Town Trustees. We believe that development should pay for itself and should not be an expense of tax paying citizens.

Charitable Causes – We will leverage our collective experience to help citizens promote their efforts to help the needy in our community.

Town Employees – We support our town employees who have been doing their best to serve our community with limited resources.
